Adventure Charter Business and Tallship for sale or Trade
Location: Southern Chile
This is a charter and tourist agency business opportunity offered along with the "Tallship". This is a $240,000 per-year net profit business opportunity.
There are no taxes in Chile where our business is located.
No taxes nor import duties is an incentive given to encourage growth here.
The Tallship Schooner alone has a potential of US$140,000 net per year for voyages to Cape Horn and the glaciers/fjords of Tierra del Fuego.
The Travel Agency has a potential of $100,000 + net per year on Internet sales. Wide band is available at location.
The yacht and the business may be sold or traded separately or together.
The above profit for the Tallship is estimated using a well known adventure sailing business providing sales.
They will provide the "Tallship" with instant exposure with advertisements, brochures, web site and
trade relations. Currently they reach over 500,000 current and past passengers through mailing and an
addition 9.2 million through their web site (audited hits as recorded by third party auditor, Web Trends).
In addition, their regular advertising reaches 1.5 million readers on a monthly basis. They will charge a
fee of 25% of gross passenger fare that covers their marketing, sales and advertising.
To insure that the passengers receive a good sailing experience, they will
deploy an assistant to work on board the "Tallship".
Up front money for the following is needed in order to set the business in motion:
A ) Haul out.
B ) Any repairs resulting from the haul out and misc. expenses.
C ) New 200 hp Daewoo marine diesel motor including installation.
The new motor is to assure being able to make tourist schedules.
The new motor is not necessary if the "Tallship" is used as a pleasure boat.
Total cost for the aboveis estimated at about $40K .
It is seen that Cape Horn and the zone of the glaciers and fjords of Tierra Del Fuego is just now starting to open
up for tourism and has started booming.
With only 2/3 capacity of the "Tallship" or 7 passengers at $230 average/day/passenger, we can foresee a gross cash flow of $45,000/mo. for a 7 month season, or a net profit of $140,000/year after overhead and agency commissions.
It is tax free and operating expenses are not high compared to American standards.
Overhead is estimated as follows:
Captain US$12,000
Crew 18,000
Insurance 18,000
food 20,000
fuel 7,000
maintenance 10,000
miscellaneous 10,000
________
TOTAL $100,000/year
The above are estimates based on experienced projections, but are not to be taken as guaranteed figures.
We will train a new bilingual captain and provide crew, some of whom being those whom have sailed the "Tallship" for 12 years.
Trips to Cape Horn and the glaciers and fjords of Tierra Del Fuego had a total market in 2003/2004 of US$5.5 million which was a 25% increase from 2002/2003. There is a projected increase of another 25% next season 2004/2005.
The "Tallship" and charter business are being sold because the owners are planning a future move to the US.
Reasonable offers will be considered.
